Just curious
If I remember correctly, the Power Enterprise kit has an FMIC, all the piping, etc. plus an oil cooler. I believe that, combined with strong stock internals was good for 9psi and approx. 385 whp. Good enough in my book. I'd probably still upgrade the rotors and pads to Endless (like my Evo).

As far as price goes, I think it was around $7K, but I might be wrong.

I second the notion of "you have to figure out what you want." The Evo is not a great daily driver. It makes noises, bucks when you shift (my wife spills her slimfast almost every morning when I drive her to work) and has a harsh ride. But the first time you autocross this thing or just drive it flat out you will be smiling from ear to ear. This car is engineered to go fast, not fart around on the street, and THATS why I think it's cool. I haven't driven the other cars you listed besides the WRX and the SRT-4 (which both also rock, and are incredible at their respective price points), but they are all good choices. It's a great time to shop for a car, good luck!

Oh yeah, and about $7000 dropped into an Evo will get you close to 500 hp in an AWD street rocket, and I would think twice about relying on a motor to perform reliably that was never meant to be turbo'd.

P.S. The Evo is the best!!!

No offense, but this is the kind of stuff that makes me cringe when I tell people I drive an Evo... Who needs 500 hp on the street??? To each his own, otherwise we'd all be driving Toyota Priuses...

Hole on ther bobalouee....

Not a bad Question. Lot of different cars with different + and-
I went through the same thing. you can drive your self nuts, Hey why not throw an M3 or an S4 into the mix.
Sh-t buy the time you got a G35, added turbopkg, wheels coilovers, exaust, brakes, new rearend, tranny etc. ad nausium---- hey you could have got a 911 (well not quite

Just sit back and figure out what you need 1st, and then what you want
If you really love to drive, and I mean DRIVE, and want to have a car with more mod options than you can imagine, and want a real back seat, and want to smoke just about everything out there.....

Hey don't beat yourself. It's a tough decision, so I totally understand. I hope you will end up with a car that you can't wait to drive everyday. For me, that's the best part about driving an Evo.

I was in the same boat with you when I used to have a Lancer Es when it first come to US. I started modding it and by the time I found out that the Evo was finally here, I freaked out and jump for joy. Ive looked for all the cars which you mentioned and they seem pretty nice to have but all of them have different disadvantages on me but the Evo. After I called the dealer and asked if their selling Evo for MSRP, without hesitation and test drive, I took home my one love = Tarmac Black Evo.

O man, enought already. I came accross people like you before, I've been asked the same question over and over again. Them: hey what car should I buy? Me: It's your freakin money so spent it on something you really like and don't give a crap about what people might say. For me it was either the EVO or STi (Evo seem to catch my attention more.) Well what else can I say I'm still in the same boat as you are, but I already made up my mind and I'm working my *** of for it. So hope you do the same dude.

Problem with the evo? ... the dealerships are still selling it for $32,000 around here... at both the local mitsus.......... thats way to high.. imo for an evo.. i've heard of other dealerships selling them for 25k .. only disadvatage i can think of, besides the fact they wont let me test drive it until i've basically signed all the paperwork and am ready to drive it home! Bah.. oh well

Thnx for more responses people

well i have a WRX too... take a good look at one of those..you can pick up a used one pretty cheap.... the EVO is a car you have to get used to. and another thing .... GAS.... ask any owner here.. you fill up that car a lot... but when you buy a car with this kind of performance you don't worry about the gas. check out the WRX...nice car, lots of mods, and best of all AWD....
