Question Has anyone taken out the front bumper support beam?

Has anyone on the forum taken out the front bumper support beam for installation of a kit or anything that requires the removal of it ?

if anyone has ... may you please pinpoint where exactly is the bumper support beam and the procedure to take it out ... thanks !

The only car that I know of that might have taken it out is VIVID's project evo car with the Cwest Evo7 kit on.

I want to know because I dont know if anything would be affected by taking the beam out ??

Thanks. much appreciated.

I've worked a few kits on cars with bumper support issues. Many times you can modify the beams by trimming areas that contact the bumper cover to get the front bumper to fit. If trimming would work the mounts can be cut back to bring in the bumper support closer to the car for more clearance.

It is worth it to try to retain it at all possible.

I was going to keep off the bumper beam after installing a front mount, it's only 4 bolts. I decided to keep it for saftey reasons, weight savings wasn't a huge benefit in removing this.

once you have it off, is there any feasible way that you could get in 'trouble' for having it off--that is, is there any way the authorities would find out? what are the possible consequences (legal, car insurance, etc) for getting in an accident without a bumper support?
