Do you wish you had a wingless trunk?

Ya I do wish that it had a wingless trunk, but like you stated these cars do not come around that often let alone a bone stock rs. I have been considering buying @leetEVO 's trunk but I like that all the vin tags match minus the hood of course.

Oh, so a previous owner actually had it drilled and installed? Interesting, most of the time it’s a trunk swap. Does yours have the original RS trunk release bars? If so, it probably just barely opens when you pull the latch, since it’s not meant for the added weight of the wing. Not a big deal though.

Ya they had it drilled to install the wing. Yes it has the original release bars so the trunk doesn't open that far when you pop it and it wants to slam shut when you go to close it.

Got it. There’s nothing wrong with a wingless Evo, since it’s clean, but honestly this car was meant for a wing. Wingless is cool for a bit, but the wings aren’t the cop magnets that they used to be. I went wingless for maybe a year (had a carbon fiber Do Luck trunk) but got over it, and when I re-installed the original trunk, I appreciated the complete appearance… and immediately noticed the more planted rear ended when first getting back onto an on-ramp.

Ya some days I don't like it and some days I do. For now the wing will probably stay.

So true, the evo 8/9 wing is actually quite classy compared to modern over styled battleship looking wings/splitters/other aero. I started out wingless with my rs, loved the clean, compact weight saving look but then when I got my evo 9 the wing just felt and looked so right on this chassis. Now I don't even think about taking it off.

Yup… the previous-gen CTR comes to mind. It fits the car and its design (unlike the new/current CTR), but there’s just so much going on that it looks too busy.

Same. I would only upgrade to a functional aero if it resembles the original wing/look. i dont want a "lancer es"

I am willing to pay for the shipping if the hood is in good condition. I live in Central Wyoming. How can I get in contact with your friend from Arizona?
