Hello everyone, I have been a lurker for the last 10-15 years on these forums and thought I had an older account but cannot login anymore. Had to create a new account as I need to post 15 times it seems in order to use the marketplace but after a broken transmission link it seems i need to let go of my car now unless some of you gearheads out there can help out.

It is a 2005 EVO 8 GSR Electric Blue and in need of a new transmission. It was the original stock transmission with 235K on it and with engine rebuilt at 138K. Was driving along home when something clanged and suddenly could not engage in any gear. Had to tow it to my shop and they said the link or pin from transmission broke and there was no way to repair.

Really was trying to hold onto it but trying to source a decent transmission the last year or so has been tough so if anyone has any good leads on one or a good repair shop in the dublin/pleasanton California area that would be great. Otherwise I will try to sell as is to someone who can maybe restore it.

Sad times for sure.

I’m Ohio and Shep and TRE are the big transmission shops out here. Maybe contact one of them to see if they can get a trans in your hands.
