I was reading over some information about Mitsubishi and looking at their engine specs. Some questions came to mind.
A. Does the Lancer Evolution use the same engine in all generations, and if not what years (generations) are different?

B. Is the 4G63 engine in the Lancer Evolution the same engine found in the first generation DSM GS-X (Eclipse AWD)?

C. Is the 2.4 litre engine in the 2005 Lancer Ralliart the same engine found in the Dodge SRT-4? Also, is the 2.0 litre engine in the second generation Dodge Neon the same engine in the current Mitsubishi Lancer ES?

A...is does use the same engine in theory...but different variations of it...

B...again i really dont belive that they are the same exact engine...but just another variation of the G63

C...is the SRT-4 single cam?...2005?....and i dont believe that the neon and lancer es shared the same engine

B.Yes they are both 4G63's but very different

C. No, The SRT-4 is different than the RA and No, the neon uses a Chrysler built 420A (used in the 95-99 Non-turbo DSM) while the ES uses the 4G94

 

The 1G 4G63 is the same as in the EVO I~III models. After that, they rotated it 180 degrees, and started changing things. This is why the DSM world always gets EVO III turbos, exhaust manis etc etc. So if you're looking for a car that you can use to steal parts for your EVO for, get an EVO I~III.
