Possible Lease Payments
Possible Lease Payments
Dear all,
I currently am leasing a 2002 Nissan Sentra SE-R Spec V. Two years ago when I was shopping, I tested everything.....Celica GT-S, RSX-S, Civic Si, Lancer OZ, WRX etc. I had really felt like I had done my homework.....I ended up leasing the SE-R, and was completely satisfied.......for awhile. Don't get me wrong.....I love the car.....6 speed transmission, 180 hp from the big four, LSD in the front Etc.....But soon after I bought my car, I discovered the SRT-4, and then the STI, and then the evo.....After all my searching, and finally getting into something.....I found out about these awesome machines that would be arriving soon.
Basically, I have followed the evo since it arrived here......Ive been into the dealerships numerous times to chat......Saw the first ones on the street...........watched the dealer markups dissapear, and now, I am losing sleep thinking about this car. I know I told myself I would be happy with the SE-R, but I have to have this car.....the turbo charged 4G63, all wheel drive, a no BS performance car.....with a roomy backseat as well.
All in all, I am trying to decide if I should go in and deal on one......but I am looking for some information first.....My SER that I want to trade is a 2002, Red, ABS, Spoiler, and in perfect condition with 14000 miles......my lease payoff is 12000.....I have looked up blue book, and it is around 12000. I have seen plenty of dealerships selling used SERs with more mileage than mine for around 14k to 16k.
So, is it reasonable to expect that the dealership will give me my payoff amount or perhaps a bit more? Will there most likely be fees for an early lease termination? And then what would my likely payments be for a 2003 Evo, with CF spoiler (dont care about sunroof), if I dont put any money down, and either go for a 60 month lease or purchase? My current payment for my sentra is 332 a month.....am I dreaming when I hope to get something around 350 or 375 a month for the evo? I can only afford under 400 a month right now........
Thanks for all the info........ Sincerely,
Brandon
(Sorry if this information is posted in other posts, but I have searched and searched, and cannot find any info from people that either traded in or put no money down)

60 month purchase with no down payment = $600+ payments
Not sure about leasing. $400/mo will be tight. Also, your maintenence and insurance will go up considerably; if money is really that tight I'd try to sit back and save up a bit more, or pick up a used one.

Yeah I started a thread like that a while ago, in terms of monthly payments, if you think about it, even a used evo is twice the price of what your car is currently worth, and you'd be hard pressed to get your payments below 400 per month without a killer down payment or by some act of God they let you finance over 10 years, its a great car but you must factor in insurance and the cost to maintain it! these cars arent cheap, stick with your SER for now and when the $ starts rolling in then you can buy your evo either that or look for a really really used one, browse the for sale forum, the other day I saw a guy willing to take 1000 down and taking over his monthly payments in order to get his evo, its a longshot but try it! good luck
And you know that you are going to want to do some mods (all I DREAM of now are bovs, and intakes and cams and turbos, drool drool) So make sure you can do that with out having to start a carrer in bankrobbery. ( your honor, I plead not guily buy reason of EVOmodinsanity, I just got to it into the 11"s)
thanks for all the replies......I have heard some stories about people leasing and buying with cloe to nothing down, and getting some insane monthly payments.......but it almost sounds too good to be true. Well, all I can do is go in and try to deal on one.....see what happens.......
There's always more to it, though. Those insanely low monthly payments are usually the people who traded in a car or end up getting screwed because they're over mileage.
Good luck.
Good luck.
