I was looking at the NHTSA rating for the Lancer for the years Mitsu has been out in Canada (since 2003).

And although the Lancer rates 4 stars in almost everything, it gets 2 stars for it's front side impact.

Does anyone know if the side airbags would make a difference? cuz apparently the side airbags are seat mounted or something like that.

After seeing the Dateline NBC testing of the Galant, the Mazda 6, the Camry and all that, makes me concerned about getting a car that will minimize my side impact injuries should I ever get into one.
