Injen CAI or RRM CAI
Guess I can clear up a few things. Honestly I am not fond of INGEN. If it was AEM vs. RRM, I would prolly be a little kinder. Ours CAI does not require you to cut your stock airbox, Ours has been dynoed along with some other items. We figure it to contribute about 10-12 h.p. of the 30 h.p. we gained on our N/A Ralliart. Also one mount is better than 2 because it depends where you are mounting to. Engine moves a lot and if you mount one to the chassis and one to the motor you will break the intake. That is another reason to not have a hardpipe right up to the throttle body. Engines move a lot! We have sen a lot of broken INJENS on OZs. Search this forum and you will find threads and pics. InJen unfortunately doe a lot of intakes and prolly did not spend much time on this one. We heard dyno numbers on other INJEN intakes that were actually lower than stock. YES I said lower than STOCK. See old threads on this forum too.

i just installed the RRM CAI several days ago. that thing is awesome. i had my car dyno'd after i installed. i'm not sure what stock numbers are but here is the dyno sheet with the CAI. hope this helps anyone who is trying to decide. it's worth the money if you ask me. VERY good quality!!

That is a supper impressive dyno for our CAI. WOW!! That is about 12-15hp/tq gain over stock... very impressive indeed. I know i'm biased at times but i've seen some injen downfalls as well with broken mounting brackets. This was also why RRM went for Stainless Steel. After looking at this dyno i would say that price would become the bigger reason to go RRM. It's cheaper and makes great hp/tq gains. There is also NO CEL with the RRM intake and some injens(NOT ALL) do cause them to pop up. Also I love powder coated parts... they just seem to be more eye appealing then the chromed out look that flakes/tarnishes/or fades with time. My .02 on this. Good luck
Looking at that dyno versus the RRM dyno with piggy and axle you can see that there is not only another 10+hp/tq gain but the powerband is so much longer and better with the piggy and axleback. It appears that with just the CAI the mivec is really opened up but with the piggy/axleback the pre-mivec are is raised considerably and the peak is improved. The power band on the RRM setup is just insane compared to this dyno. Guess we know what coote will be getting next
Thanks for the support coote and the post. Man it really proved a lot.

Rock,
I mentioned the two mounts being a plus in my book because my CAI slipped a little and hits the body where it goes up under the driver's fender. That started happening 2 days after install. If the CAI lower section that the filter mounts to had 2 mounts to the tranny, it probably wouldn't have slipped, would still be free floating from the body, and stress breakage shouldn't be an issue.
The slip isn't that big of a deal, and might just be an isolated occurance. Its easy enough to slap a wrench on and adjust.
I am not complaining about my CAI, I honestly love it and would HIGHLY recommend it to anyone. The construction is excellent, and I like having powder coated stainless over aluminum. It also sounds great and looks really nice too. One of the best ideas you had was painting it red. I like how it matches the red factory accents.
As a comparison, I installed an aluminum E-bay CAI on my GF's OZ. It didn't exactly slap right in like the RRM unit did in my car. They say hind sight is always 20/20, and now that I have installed from both sides of the fence, I would have preferred to install a RRM product instead. Your units have much better fit and finish.
Keep up the good work Rock, we really appreciate what you are doing for our cars.
(P.S. we wouldn't mind you dropping a hint on the next HP adding mod to NA cars...)

i always have to support the great products and yes i will definitley be getting the axelback and the piggyback at some point this year...i'm going to the beach first though(priorities???)
I appreciate the feedback. Problem is not the number of mounts but where to mount to. There is only one good spot on the trans and mounting it somewhere else may cause breakage when the engine torques. Thanks for the feedback. I will note it for sure.
