No pics yet. I will take some this weekend while I am home. There is no 'urban jungle'. A/C is standard, nothing optional.

I had kind of a crazy weekend and was not able to get a hold of a digital camera so no pics yet, but I have put 930 miles on in a little over 3 days. Did I mention that I like driving this car?

congrats cuprsnel. i'm curious, why did you get the RS? do you intend to track it? does it seem faster than a base evo?

I have never done any racing, never had a car worthy of the track. I would like to try autocross. I bought the RS b/c it seemed like the right car for me. I wanted a white one, not crazy about the wing, front lsd is good, no stock radio to pay for and pull out, and cheaper to boot. I really don't understand the whole "Not a daily driver argument". I can't think of a car I would want to drive more on a daily basis. But I am coming from cars with crank windows and no luxury. If my last car was a Benz or something I might feel differently. My only real requirement for comfort was A/C (i had many cars without A/C in the past, had enough of that) and that is standard on the RS so the choice was easy for me. Central locking would be nice but no biggie, I am usually alone in it anyway.

Oh, not sure if it is faster than the regular Evo. I only drove one once with a salesman next to me so I couldn't really get a feel for just how fast it could go. But from what I read it is slightly faster. 200lbs faster. Not much.

200 lbs is a decent amount of weight. the old rule of thumb used to be 0.1 seconds less in the 1/4 for every 100 lbs.

you should try autox. with the leighter weight and front LSD, the RS may be pretty cometitive in its class (AS?). i used to autox an s2000 and it was a blast.

Interesting -- the weight savings of the RS compared to the VIII is only 88 lbs. I assume that the VIII in that comparison does not have any of the options, like the sunroof, that add weight.

I would have thought that Mitsu could have shaved off more than 88 lbs.
