what kind of boost gauge ?

From doing a little research it seems there are 2 types of boost gauge. one that runs the vacuum line directly to the gauge and one that runs a line to a map sensor and then electronically to the gauge . Which type is better ? i am confused...thx in advance to all.

the vacuum line one is mechanical
the map sensor one is electrical

both are good.. but the mechanical one is more bulletproof because you don't haev a map sensor that can malfunction causing you not to read correctly

the electrical will show the exact number as it reads but the map sensors can go bad and the vacuum lines would be your best choise if you are planning to keep the car in the long run
