Ontario Mistubishi in California is either crazy or loves crazy mark-ups...
Today me and my friend went the the dealership to look at a used evo, red 03 with 12000 miles on it. Talk to a cool guy, told me some specs about it (which i already know), showed me it and stuff. It was on a lift, so I asked if he could take it down and test drive and he said yeah sure, thats a possibility i said cool. First off i few things i noticed about the car, first off there was paint chipping on the side skirts and bottom front bumper and rear. Second, there was rust and dirt corrision on the front left side rotor. Third, there was a nail stuck in the back right tire, and also the factory clutch was replaced (obvisouly), also the brembo brakes where scratched up, also the tailpipe had rust and corrision (inside and out) from what im guessing was non oil change, also there was a limited warranty on it aswell. So my friend said he saw it advertised in a newspaper for 25.5K, and the guy siad well if its for that, then we sell it at that, so the guy double checked it, came back to us and said theres no ads for it, and the car is currently goin for 31,136 (thats not even including taxes and fees witch he said is an extra 3k, he said so where looking at 34,136)
I nearly hit the roof, and laughed and said 'you can be serious'. He said it was that price and i said, dude new 03 evos go for 28k, lesser than that if you find a good dealership. He told me well thats what the price is, i told him to bring it down atleast 6k or 5.5k and he wouldnt budge. He really tried to sell me a used evo with all the things wrong with it for 31k. I said new o4's go for 29k, and with leather 31k. He told me new o4s are goin for 33-35k and leather is 37k (again without taxs and fees), tried to sell me and 04 leather evo for 40k.
This guy was serious, but he said he can work with me, and we decide to do the 4 squares hopping he would knock of that 5.5-6grand on a used vehicle. I said id drop 3k down right now, and my trade in lancer and we where looking at 900 a month and some change. I said no, i wanna pay around 400 to 450 a month and he went back and said i need 10k down. I was like maaaaan, you need to come down 9k on that price (including the taxs, fees, etc.) and he wouldnt. The manager (i believe) came out and talked to me and he wouldnt budge either.
After about and hour of haggle, the manager comes out and tries to sell me a galant gtz and a ralli-art. Im like man, dont dissrespect me like that. I said look, im obvisouly wasting your time and your are really wasting my time with your sky-rocket prices, im leaving. He insisted me to test drive a GTZ, i was like no. I dont want a galant. He even offered and eclipse spyder and i said no, just evo... EVO ONLY. He said, he couldnt do it for me, i left so pissed. Not understanding why it was so dam high. Freaking crazy. I might aswell find a new 03 and get it for like 26k.

I can tell you right now why they want soo much for the car. That car was seriously messed up and abused. They probably dumped soo much money and man hours in it that they need the money back cause they are at a loss with that car. DO NOT BUY IT!! its messed up more than you will ever know. Wait for the RS or MR man. Or go get a STi, cause since you are jumping on now, might as well wait for the new EVO or go with STi (Sti was my first choice b4 EVO, but they were new and marked up too high).
I think Ontario Mitsu was one of the dealers on the mark-up list when the Evo first came out. The problem is that someone with more dollars than sense will come along and buy it, justifying their ridiculous prices.
Please stop it with the "Go to SM Mitsubishi." So and So will take care of you. They take care of no one. Bought my EVO there, what a mistake. On delivery, they could not locate my second key (after telling them that there should have been two keys). They said fine, they will cut a new one/ I thought they were going to do it right then and there but NO, they made me wait 30 minutes just to tell me that I would have to come back and do at at service station. What a buch of crap.

Salesman named Lorenzo was very nice. I got my Evo for 28.7 (Invoice) (Brand NEW!!!) 32K out the door. They were very nice and were willing to work with me. The car was listed at $33K. I did walk in pre approved and told them I would not pay anything over invoice, went in on a Sunday evening 1 1/2 hours before they closed. Everyone was great. I recommend giving them a try.

tustin tried to rip me off. wouldn't even work with me wanting like 10g's down with the trade in of my s2000. went to huntington beach mitsubishi dave and the sales manager seriously hooked me up over there. when or if i ever buy another mitsubishi, i am going to hb mitsubishi again. They are VERY flexable

I went down there to Ontario Mitsu about a month ago, and they said that the new 04's were months away from being delivered. They also said that the RS's were the ONLY ones that were going to be sold in '04... Of course they also asked if I was interested in a '03 (which I already own, just wondering how the markups were going to be)...
I love it when dealers know their a$$ from a hole in the ground, er, maybe they don't...

BAHAHAHHAH!!! Ontario mitsubishi is the worst dealership in so-cal TRUST ME! All who is going to check on a evo go somewhere else SERIOUSLY! I can say so many stories on that dump dealership. The tech service blows and abuse the evos, you think the used evo mark up is crazy look @ the new 04's, and they laugh @ people's credit. I was there to service my evo "my mistake" and as I went to check out the new evos they laughed @ this guy about his credit. LOL BAHHAHH!!! Oh yeah I am including ontario, pomona, and norco their all own/manage by the same guy.

haha... man, we checked out Ontario too. They were telling me about that used 03 going for 30k. that's just ridiculous... anyways, we ended up getting a new one from San Bernardino for 31k otd for an 04. they're the most professional/honest/up front group of people we dealt with when shopping around So CA. i kept hearing horror stories about shady dealerships, but this one surprised the hell out of me. i honestly can't say enough nice things about them. ask for Sergio, he took good care of me
Ok, I know im bumping an ooooooold thread of mine, but I decide to give ontario mitsubishi another chance. Since this old thread, I bought a new o4 ralliart for silly cheap at santa monica mitsu and got a g35 from my soon to be mother in law. Im not looking to buy an evo out right, but I always keep my eyes open for deals or atleast try to make one.
Anyways, Earlier today, I call and talk to a guy about this evo. I can't remember the guy name, but I was told it 100% stock and the cheesey decal can be taken off. I ask if he could lower the price advertise and he said "maybe, come in right now and we can talk". I said, I can't come in now, but... than he cuts me off, "well, if you can't come in... I can't lower it". I said, "27k is alot for a stock o3 evo with 23k miles, my friend just bought a o5 RR Evo for 27k from victorville mitsubishi 3weeks ago" and he said "well, that's victorville we do things different here". So I said, "So can you or can you not lower"? Than he said "i don't know man, that's a killer deal on a o3". Killer deal on a o3, wtf.... That's when I didn't like his attitude, but being nice... I said "ill come down". He put me on hold for a few mins, he than took my name, number and said he'll call me right back. After a few hours... no call. So I call back and some lady said he left for the day, WTF. I decide not to go look at it today... but I think ill still stop by this weekend and give it a look.
Sucks, I give them another chance... and bam, another jerk.
