I have a 2001 mirage, 1.8L and i just got http://www.coolwheels.com/ViewPartinfo.cfm?parttype=347 <~ that intake.. when i install it.. and ten i start the car up.. it doesnt feel right.. the engine woblles maybe 6 seconds after engine is turned on then the car shuts off.. i never installed an intake before, is there something I should know about? here i took a pic of the intake: http://www.geocities.com/ozkuh/intake.jpg

My guess is you didn't connect the air sensor....Let me take a look in my Mirage

 

no i didnt.. where do i connect the air senor to?

u didn't hook up the MAS. the lil black box. here is a pic of the mirage engine bay with the intake and MAS



u need to bolt the MAs adaptor to the MAS and bolt the filter onto there

it looks like the black thing on the bottom left

 

I did that same thing when i hooked up my friends bmw
it took me all of 5 sec to figure out what i did wrong. so i made a part for the sencer. all is well.

 

my intake didnt come with that MAS adapter.. does it come with the stock intake?

 

You might want to make sure you get the right parts...

 

ive been looking at the stock intake.. cant i just take out that sensor and somehow use that in betwen the tube and the filter?
