FMIC's and Front bumpers
I have noticed that almost every car I have seen with a FMIC have an opening in the front bumper. I understand why the bumper would be this way
, but what I wanted to know is on some cars the stock bumper doesn't have a large or any opening. Can you use a FMIC on a car like that???
If you can, how much does it effect proformance???
The car that brought this question up is the G35 which you can get a twin turbo w/FMIC; but would it even work on the stock bumper???

It will work with the stock bumber on the car. The reason most after market ones have a large opening for the FMIC is 1 it looks cool and 2 it does help the air to flow over the inter cooler a little bit more by exposing more of it to the air.
It will work just fine, it just wont be as effective as a front bumper with a big opening in the front. The more cool air flowing through the fins of the intercooler, the cooler the air that goes to the engine.
Any front bumper will work with an FMIC. You just may have to shave it a little on the inside. Some just work better than others. And naturally the ones that have a hole big enough so the whole FMIC can breathe will be the best.

I really need help on this one. If anyone can help please post soon.
Hey thanks, one more question. What about adding a body kit that changes the bumper? Is it possible for a FMIC to not work with a bumper or is it just a mater of efficiency?
