need help on where to find brake piston retainers

I was wondering if anyone knew where i can find or get brake piston retainers for the evo. While changing my brakes i noticed that on 2 of the pistons that the plastic retainers that keeps the brake pistons from leaking break fluid were ripped. when i went to the mitsu dealership they wanted 137 dollars for 4 peices of plastic! if it helps the part # is MR407375 and is called the seal kit, FR brake caliper. any help will be much apreciated.

If you are talking about the piston seals they will be tough to find outside of the dealer resources.....how on earth did they get ripped? did you push the pistons back with a sharp screwdriver and tore the seals or something?

This is a somewhat common issue on Evos, especially ones that have been tracked. My front dust seals are all shedded too and I know better than to screw them up with a screw driver tip. FWIW, I've read that alot of track brake set ups don't even use dust seals, probably because they get rebuilt quite frequently. Shout out if you've got a good source for the seals.

Pull the caliper off and see if your local Euro auto parts store has anything that will fit (Vans autoparts here)... if all else fails, take them down to the Porsche dealership. Even though the calipers are different, I'd bet they use the same internals/seals etc..

i called brembo and they said that i had to talk to one of their distributors in order to get the part. it turns out that each piston seal costs $23 or $92 for a set for each caliper, compared to the $137+ mitsu wanted. the dealer also sells them individually just incase if you only need 1 or 2 and dont get forced into paying for the whole set. the place where i ordered it form is called race technology and their # is 310-306-3158.
