ok so say we go on autotrader, and ya find an evo, now lets decipher the descrition, first, from a private seller.

2003 lancer evolution, recaro interior, awd, turbo, oil changed every 3000 miles, all service records, adult driven, never raced, very fast car, brand new tires.

ok actually, 2003 what ever the badge says, i didnt kno it came with recaro interior, or awd, or turbo, oil changed do to excesive abuse and chemical breakdown, every time a fluid is changed the receipt gets stuffed in the glove box with every other receipt, has had the $*** beaten out of it by an adult, never raced legally, ok so i have floored it a couple hundred times, old tires were bald from power sliding in the mall parking lot.

now from a dealer.

2004 lancer evolution rs, brand new only 10 miles , turbo, awd, recaro interior, only driven off truck, never test driven, very fast , the only true performance car, very reliable.

let's see, well im pretty good at reading the price sticker, olny 10 miles of 5 salesmen seeing how fast it truly is, lets read more sticker stuff, etc., etc. , only driven off truck, around, block, down, street, back, etc.,never test driven by a customer atleast, we make them sit in the passenger seat., we beat the $*** out of it, trust us, we kno, well this one isnt as reliable seeing as we beat teh snot out of it, but the other's are, but dont expect that waranty to help ya hahaha

That is the truth...I went for a "ride" in one at the dealer months before I bought one from another dealer (straight off the truck). The one we rode in had 6 miles on it and the sales manager was driving like a damn idiot...redlining, pushing it slightly past redline, hitting 25 curves at damn near 70! Nice and easy break in, huh?

 

Yeah, but I'd be doing the same thing. I mean, all they have to look forward to alot of the time is giving test drives in galants, and monteros. The dealers around here don't give test drives unless you really are planning on buying it, so I think they don't get to be in the evos too much. When I bought my evo, and all was said and done, I was about to leave, people that worked at the lot were comming up to me like damn, I wish I got one. They went to go fill it up with gas, and when they got back like 20 minutes later, both of the salesmen that went had the biggest stupid grin on there face. I know why. Cuz when your that old married, and you drive a ford tuaras, the only kicks you get is filling up a sports car with gas, and getting on it both ways.
