Injen Intake system....

I know KK has tried one. Any feedback? I am considering it, price and performance seem right.

I have the kit in Black... utmost quality in the parts... very aggresive sounding... you can tell there's a bit of power pick up there, but, prolly need a ecu flash after it's install... the car now breaks up bad above 7k rpms, just like other intakes... other than that, it's a great product i think... spool up seems quicker and you can clearly hear even the stock bpv as well now... the intercooler piping can be a slight pain if you've got some big hands and body...

Chris,
Dont lie. Your car is still slow. J/K It does have a great sound and does add a bit of power. Now you just have to free up that exhaust.

I'm trying to get down to Turbotrix one day so I can redyno with the intake on.

I didn't have any fitment issues with the kit, which is very nice considering the tight area around the battery. I did notice that spool up was a bit quicker, which is really nice

Assuming I pick up some hp with this setup, I would highly recommend it. The black kit looks pretty slick, too. I'll get some pics ASAP.

What do you mean the car breaks up bad above 7k rpm? What's it doing?

Could one expect problems like that with any intake on the evo? I'm looking to get one soon for mine, but am lost between all the different intakes. I like the sound of the injen, but don't want problems with the ecu, or stalling or anything like that. I was reading somewhere that just resetting the ecu will fix it, but I'm not exactly sure.

Here's some pics of the Injen setup in black. I'm stepping out so I took some rush pics... I'll get a better one under the car a bit later.

The same intake you bought? or was it different one? Sorry I'm such a newb when it comes to this. I don't know much about intakes, and I act like a smart *** in other threads, but I'm really not.

feels like there's a bit of hessitation, then go, then hessitation, then go... which is what i'm assuming is what the others say that the car will pull timing with intakes with no flash... or, maybe it's just my car... dunno... the car definetly feels like it's making more power up high (6k-ish up to 7) and a lil' more grunt down low... and it's smooth power......
......do you have the same issues KK??? i'm assuming no with the different meter???

Chris...

Hey guys, I just added a post on this. I just installed mine this past weekend. Here is the link with a few pics:

Hope this helps. I haven't had a chance to really drive the car at all, I'll try and take it out this weekend and let you all know how it goes.

Just wanted to say thanks all for answering my questions, I'll let techause have his thread back. I'm definetly ordering mine next week when I have the money. Just one more question, on the site that I posted, it says something like up 15 hp gain with this kit, is that realistic? I was expecting only like a 4 horsepower gain from what I've heard from other intakes. Or is this one that much better?
