hmm... how to convert
Well, they wouldnt really nkow. If your car was registered before as Mirage/Lancer, them there should be no problem insuring it with all the modifications as a Mirage/Lancer. The only thing is, they would probably go by eth blue book to see how much they would charge you for insurance. And since your car didnt come as an "evo" then all the money and wok put into the car would not be accounted for in teh insurance. In other words, If your cars blue book value is say $4000, and you put over $10,000 dollars in modifications and the works, when your car gets totally written off, the insurance company will only give you $4000 and not the total amount of what has been put into the car.
Hope tha cleared it up for you

It is cheaper (including insurance) to just buy an Evo, "Switching" it to an EVO costs mucho bucks, turboing it to have comparable drag numbers isn't bad but if you want true evo, you need to strip everything, and add completely different drivetrain, transmission, engine. Not too mention the axles, body welds, ayc and differentials, then you can start on the body kits.
however, insuring a "true" Evo is another matter, you will have a hard time finding a "normal" insurance company. You will have to find some that will insure you based on the value of the car....
Jigga did that before, it's all depends on how much $$ you have
