clutch^$$**#!!@!
I have a 2003 Lancer evo with less than 10,000 mile.Need new clutch. My mechanic has run into a snag on removing/moving trans back to replace clutch.said he has removed everything. Help!
also, I went to buy a clutch for it and was sold a Daikin clutch #MBK1001.It cost $379 and my mechanic says I shouldn't put this clutch on. I don't rac the car , but I know my son does.
Any suggestions on one or both questions?

You need to take a large flay blade screwdriver and insert it in from the boddom ispection hole (remove the plug) and use it to separate the release bearing from the clutch cover (pressure plate). If you don't do this step correctly, you will tear apart the stacked wave-spring type washer that is crimped on to the clutch cover diaphragm spring. If you're throwing out the old cover, not as big a deal.
