OZ People - Seat Fading?

I was just wondering if anyone was having the same problem I am. I have had my OZ for almost 3 years and since about 2 years ago, I noticed that both front seats where you sit were faded. It's like an oval in the center. The dealer tried to tell me I spilled something and tried to clean it off and I said, "On both seats in the same spot?" It was ridiculous and a war and I lost, of course, but I didn't spill anything. Just wondering if anyone else had the same prob.. Someone tried to tell me that it was from the sun but I live in NY. The sun isn't ever out around here. haha

Don't know man the first 2 years I had mine it was out in the sun all day everyday because I didn't have a garage or a car cover, but to this day My seats are fine! I'm still gonna try to get some new Recaros sometime though, but that is at the bottom of my list! Something ain't right about that for real though! How many miles you got on your car? mine is a 2002 too and I'm about to hit 36000 miles! Don't know though, but good luck!!

cant say i have had that problem...yet. My lancer is only 1 year old. I do, however, use a sun reflector that I put in the front windshield when parking in the sun. but if its not from the sun I have no idea. my only suggestion would be to buy some evo recaros hehe

If they're oval spots in the same spot on both seats, I can't help but think one thing.

Those are butt prints.

I'd assume your seats are just starting to wear out. Which is odd, on a 3 year old car. But given what I know about , it wouldn't surprise me at all.

My seats still look good. Of course, they have been in my bedroom since January Ok but seriously, does it get a lot of sun or even flourescent lighting? I noticed recently that some low quality pictures I posted at work faded in only a month under the bright flourescent lights. But setting all of that aside, it sounds like something's messed up with your seats. Maybe a bad dye lot?

No fluorescent lighting.. The sun shouldn't really matter.. As I said, I'm in NY and it's always raining and barely sunny here.. I doubt if it was the sun it would be in the exactly same spot on both seats and only there, ya know? I just don't get it.

Only had mine for a little over a year, haven't had any problems w/ seats. Have you tried steaming your seats yet? I steam vac my seats w/ very hot water every now and then after vacuming and it keeps them real clean. Just a suggestion you might try if you haven't. Good luck!

Eh, not sure if flourescent lighting actually affects the seats, it was just a thought since I've seen it harm other things.
