Break in rules ?

OK, so i got my EVO friday sept.3, and ive put about 400 miles on it. Now for the first 200 i drove like grand ma, BUT the last couple hundred i MIGHT have went past 5g's 2 times, not exceeding 6g's tho. I couldnt help myself, i had to !!!!

Has any one else been a bad "breakeriner"? I was just wonderin if i was the only one.

This is always a big debate. I would say take it easy for the fisrt 3,500 miles or you might spin a bearing. I dont think 5,000 g's will hurt anything but I wouldnt be red-lining it.

I took it easy for exactly 571 miles. At that point it was itching at me so bad that I figured, ahh hell, why not. It was close enough to the 600 they suggested for break-in. lol

Car is at about 30,800 miles with no major problems and still on the stock clutch.

The owner's manual states that drive it easy on the first 600 miles, brake pads break-in for the first 200 miles. I did mine for the first 1000 miles then oil change then after that..drive like crazy, spin it ,toss it, laucnh it!! Remember, your first 600 miles comes only once on your Evo, it's worth the wait my friend. I'm at 10,500 miles as of today, no problems!!
