A Question about rear strut bars
A Question about rear strut bars
I'm looking at some Cusco suspension mods, and I was wondering if there is any advantage to purchasing the carbon fiber rear strut bar instead of the regular model. Is it strictly looks? I know CF is lighter, but could a CF strut bar be as strong as a regular one? Also, how much better would the Cusco 3-point rear strut bar be over the traditional 2 point (straight across) strut bar?
Lastly, what is everyone's opinions/experience with the Cusco lower trunk bar?
Thanks in advance...

I am also interested in the two cusco strut tower bars. I am also wondering if anyone knows if the Buscher strut tower bar is any good. it goes straight across so I'm wondering if it is not as good as the cusco triangle one. Any thoughts???
Not quite sure why this was moved to the Newbie/FAQ Forum. I thought since it was a suspension question, it would belong more in the suspension forum. "Which exhaust is better" questions never get moved from the Engine/Turbo/Drivetrain forum to the FAQ forum......anyway.......
Doesn't anyone out there have any aftermarket strut bars on their Evo. No opinions or advice on trunk mounted strut bars?

I have a rear stabilizer bar in my car (strut bar not posible due to sub box) I like it a lot.
CF bars are strong and light weight both of which is good. Titanium bars are also very good lightweight and strong. Regular ones are still a very good mod and usually they are just as stiff (assuming you get a good brand) so for performance you probably wont notice a lot of difference. There are a lot of people who are very into keeping things light and are willing to pay the extra for the lighter bars but for those on a budget I doubt the difference will be noticeable.
To answer persianevo's questions bout the triangle bar vs straight the 3 point (triangle) has a little more stability due to the 3rd point at which its atached its a better bar than the 2 point straight bar. Another option is the k style bars that have the V's at both ends the k or three point is better than straight but anything is better than nothing.
