evo 8 3" intercooler fit inside a 9 bumper

before you guys start telling me to get the slim 9 intercooler, please continue reading. i searched, but had no luck.... i have an 8 with the ETS 3" made for the 8. i was planning on possibly getting a 9 front end. will this intercooler fit the 9 front end on the 8 or won't it? thanks in advance.

yes, the only difference is the one for the IX is made to take advantage of the smaller opening, the standard core that ETS originally made is better for the VIII opening, b/c its a bigger opening.

ah. besides the front openning, i assumed the 9's were slim to fit the flatter front end. guess i was wrong... thanks.

no problems what so ever. I personally think its better because it has a larger core for better cooling...

Yeah, but there is no air hitting the rest of the core you dont see Its not a big difference, but ETS just wanted to make another fmic that would cater more towards the IX and its front facia opening.

The answer has been completely covered by you guys, so thanks for the help The standard intercooler shares the same external dimensions as the wide-tank, so only the core to tank dimensions are different. Both intercoolers fit both the VIII and IX, we just built both to cater to what we felt was the maximum performance potential given the physical features of the two different front bumper covers
