Number of miles on odometer at pick-up of MR...

I expect to be picking up my MR sometime next week. What is the maximum number of miles you could live with on the odometer when you pick up your brand new Evo from the dealership? Where do you draw the line as to what is reasonable?

>10 miles would seem more than normal.

I'd be asking for a couple bucks off if it were more than that.

From working at a dealer I would say anything less than 20 miles. But since it is an evo and people are very peticular about things like this....I would say 10-15. My 03' had 1 mile coming off the truck and 11 after the PDI. Very respectable milage for the tech to get an idea if anything is wrong. That is no more than a 10 minute ride or so.

What I think is interesting is that my dealership just got theirs and is offering myself and a few other prospective owners test drives. I am seriously not excited about that.

Double digits might be a deal breaker for me. But then again, I doubt I will have the will power to say: "Ugh, 25 miles." and walk away...

11 and that's pushing it... anymore, you know someone test drove it and then some.

if the tech's don't take it on a 10 minute test drive after PDI, a normal EVO should have anywhere from 4-9 miles depending on how far the truck is from the Service Dept., lol.

In hawaii, half of the dealers drive the cars from the docks to the dealers. SOme cars have 20 miles before test drives! The good news is that these drivers are always driving so slow when i see them w/ the plastic still on the car. dosen't really matter too much cauuse you gotta break the evo in for 1000 miles anyway though, i wouldn't want more than 25 miles if driven from dock to dealer, or 5 miles if it was trucked to dealer. p.s. If you live in continental u.s., far away from port, find out where nearest rail cargo station is and you might have an idea, if they truck or drive cars to lot. The guys who drive cars to lot save a lot of money cause dealers charge $500 destination which covers trucking. drivers just pocket the extra they save!
