EVO 9 two versions???
EVO 9 two versions???
Mitsubishi EVO 9 light weight (Japan mkt only) (Maybe UK)
i read from some post around the internet mitsu is making a light-weight version and with many more improvements internally on the 4G63 motor but the Hp will stay the same in japan only 280hp and the car will stay the japan for that mkt only but mitsu UK is working on the car for its mkt and they said the UK spec one would have a 340hp stock out of the box and maintain the light weight.

- on paper I have a best motoring video (EVO strikes back or somthing like that) and stock EVOs were pulling 12.77 in the 400m. 280ps 12.77 1/4s bull crap!!!
I've heard that the 280ps thing is all about respect in Japan? Although a Government/marketing regualation sounds more probable. BTW, whats the deal with FQ330's, 340's etc.? Shouldn't they all be FQ280's?
There is a "gentleman's agreement" in Japan among car producers not to make cars that produce more than 280 hp due to the population density and the narrowness of the roads there, therefore any car that makes more than 280 is simply stated as making 280 by the manufacturer. I do not believe, however, that it is an actual law seeing as how many of the cars in Japan obviously produce more than 280hp.
The FQ models are in the UK. It is FQ followed by the amount of stock HP. You can buy different trims of Evos with different HP for more or less money depending on how high you go in HP. Or you can bring your lower HP Evo in and upgrade it.
