Not really - the Evo IX GSR is gonna have all the MR features

+ MIVEC (and magnesium turbo as an option) if we're lucky.

Plus I have a feeling it will cost less than the MR too.

So far, we (Philippines) are getting the Evo IX this April, but only limited to the RS original LHD model from Japan. Iunno if this will be the same model in the US. MM Ph is accepting orders for the Evo IX and I placed an order already. These are original LHD but only RS models.

Yup, JDM = RHD.

No one knows what the US is going to receive as far as the IX goes. I'd even heard a rumour that we wouldn't see the RS and GT variants, just the more expensive GSR car. We'll have to wait and see........this time next week, we should know what's what

No. We have had Evos here since 1996 when the Evo 4 came out and they are all original LHD.

I just want to know what kind of payments I'm going to be looking at, then I'll know how much I can save for aftermarket goodies....

in reply to both of your posts, i highly doubt that the IX GSR is going to cost less than the MR. If it supposedly has all the features of a MR.. why is it going to cost less than an MR?

someone on this thread mentioned about importing a JDM evo IX to the states. I interested in doing that but when i searched i heard that the importing company has to be registered with the DOT? Also what will happen when the car reaches US docks? Does customs hold the car until it is legalized? How do you legalize a JDM EVO IX if all the specs meet japan's street legal laws? Im just curious and want to know more about importing JDM cars over because im really tired of getting the watered down super cars.
