I have a 2004 Evo VIII.

I am done with AMS Stage 1,2,and 3 and after I do Stage 4, Evo IX will be pointless. I will get that Evo IX for mi wife for sure. SO I will have the best of both worlds.

Same as our fuel (except CA), if you consider that this is RON not (MON + RON)/2. It would translate to 92 to 94 on our rating scale.

0-60 times are the most overrated performance number ever, it honestly doesnt say much about the car's performance, especially when alot of times some cars have quicker 60 numbers only because of the gear ratios, having a fast 60 time doesnt make it a sportscar, everyone here knows that, so the "official" number doesnt mean jack so being off by a tenth doesnt mean much

Most car mags have different performance numbers, nothing consistent.
That is usually down to climate, Altitude and the driver

My Road and Track came in today - they report a measured 0-60 of 4.4 effin seconds!!

It's just a one page, but the 4.4 figure is an awsome starting point!

Can you imagine when we put on the same mods as everyone else?!

Also says they might have gotten a faster time if not for the launch control at 5,000 RPM!

Won't be long before some sick individual is bypassing it - if not already done.

It's always gonna be ugly, and 10 more hp out of Mivec is stupid!

Agreed, but I am still eager to see the first dyno plot of this new motor, torque peak and all.

Mitsu claimed 276hp with the 05, but when Motor trend compared an 05 MR with a 300hp Sti dyno plot, it was pretty much the same peak.

I thought for sure the IX would be over 300, I hope Mitsu isn't still clinging on to the the old "276hp" lie that was the "acceptible" limit for japanese cars. Seems most other Japanese auto makers have dropped that.

They're not, I can promise that, regardless of what this car puts out. I was really expecting the Mivec to have added like 30hp, and to have had the engine detuned or something
I dunno... when Mivec controllers start coming into play with them, maybe I'll change my mind, but by then, my 8 will be plenty fast enough for me.

Yeah, my thinking is similar. The biggest reason I want to keep my 8, is that it is a known quantity. I have a feeling it might be a while before the MIVEC head motors can tuned every bit as reliably and easily as the plain Jane 4G63..
