MRMania- Let down from Mitsubishi? You own a Mazda, and Mazda has a history of overrating the power out put of their cars, talk about a let down. Plus from what I've read so far, the MazdaSpeed 6 will be a lot more bark than bite, another let down. Plus the MazdaSpeed Miata couldn't even make more than 200HP with a turbo, another let down. RX-8, nice looking car, but not anywhere near the performance that people expected, another let down by Mazda.

And all this has what to do with the 9? If you want to flame someone Flame Mitsubishi for not giving the US the real 9 were the only ones left with most of the cars getting 5 speed, no climate control, no double din, and no freakin badass rear bumper.

It's just not enough for me to get rid of my 8 for a 9. Thank god it's friday

Actually the tranny options are now in-line with everyone else....5 speed on RS and standard Evo (JDM GT) and 6 speed on MR (JDM GSR).

the 9 tail lights just reminds me of the ghetto homemade ones we all made from our Altezza tails. Looks like Mits just threw on the showfloor a Evo VIII with a painted VG new front bumper and tailights from Evodave.

I see what your saying, but I really don't see the EVO 9 as that much of a disappointment. I see it as an improvement over the EVO 8. Sure there are some things that are missing that I would have liked to have seen, but overall it still is an improvement over the EVO 8. If there is anybody to blame for a let down, than maybe it is us (this includes me) for getting our hopes to high on nothing really. The EVO 9 is exactly what it s suppose to be, a subtle upgrade over the EVO 8, nothing more. We were the ones making it out to be more than what it really was ever going to be. The items that are missing on the EVO 9, really in my opinion don't make that dramatic of a difference. If there is to be dramatic change, it will be with the EVO X.

Variable valve is something new but I am still shocked that didn't throw on the rear JDM bumper or an US version with the diffuser. That and auto climate controls are the least they can due without offering us S-AYC.

Thanks for the pics Jaime. The rest of you b!tch and moan too much. The Evo IX is, if nothing else, about MIVEC. If Mitsubishi underrated the power on the Evo IX like they underrated the power on the '05 Evo VIII then this should be easily worth the extra $500 of MSRP. Seriously...you guys complain like old ladies.

Is all the smoke from burning up a clutch driving it out?
