Interesting to see only the JDM version will carry the X badge.
2 "X" ("Ten") stands for the tenth iteration of the Lancer Evolution released on the Japan domestic market. (In other markets the car will be called "LANCER EVOLUTION".)
Also the Lancer GTS is a Galant Fortis over there.

If you mean the mule evo IX then, yes, it's the intercooler piping being routed just like you can see in the picture of the X that I posted. It just seems that the pipe didn't fit under the hood with the way the IX is designed so they rivetted the metal piece onto the hood.
I think it looks pretty sweet. I really wish them luck with it.
I'm happy because the the 8 is pretty much exactly what i want in a car and i got one already.
Styling and power aside I'm just not interested outsourcing driving control to electronic ststems and having to understand and maintenance them. I want to learn to drive a car with honest direct mechanical feedback.
I also understand for most of the rest of the world an 03' Evo is not the pinacle of automotive excellence and they need to bring in more refined characteristics to make money to identify with more mainstream car buyers.

I don't believe it'll be a true dual exhaust. It's a single exhaust pipe into a big muffler (larger volume equals more flow plus more sound supression) with TWO tips. It's an inline four cylinder feeding into one turbo. There's nothing dual about it.
