Evo X in Canada?

Hey everyone; new to the boards and Evo's in general and I gotta say that these are quite the little beasts from what I have been reading the past couple days. Originally my interest in the Evo was sparked by a friend who told me the new Evo X would be coming to Canada (although I did know a little about the Evo's beforehand just never really cared much because we don't get them here in Canada). Ill be in the market next year for a new car and the Evo X is exactly the type of vehicle I will be looking for. So my question is will the new Evo be coming to Canada or will I have to settle for something else?

My dealership here told me that they will be getting the EVO X in stock in Canada for sure. Then again, it's a dealership, take it for what it's worth

It's coming, it was said/confirmed before by the president of Mitsu Canada Sales or something like that plus some other canadian magazines/papers have also said that it's coming this time. Also the dealerships, atleast here in Alberta, have already been taking deposits. I'm getting one as soon as I have some money saved up. Good luck.

Evo X will be available in Canada, it's been confirmed numerous times by now.

The VIII and IX, however will still be banned because of the failed safety requirements.

I don't know exactly which, but I'm sure if you call one of the 3 Mitsu dealerships in Edmonton they will let you know. I also heard Calgary was taking deposits also.

My deposity has been in since June 13 @ Southside Edmonton, you'd best get one in soon if you wish to get one at all in 2008. Numbers from Mitsu Canada say between 250-500 only for Canada first model year.

Thanks to everyone for the reassurance I was kinda bummed when I heard that the Evo didn't pass the front impact test (In Canada) due to the intercooler. I guess the must have been old news (or BS) either way I wonder how Mitsu got around that problem this time when all the other Evo's had the same test results. Can anyone tell me when Mitsu actually stated they would be bringing the Evo to Canada?

Haha my bad let me rephrase that not quite what I was asking....when did Mitsu confirm the Evo would in fact be sold in Canada? Was it quite recent or has it been a while.
