More than likely tuning due to different emissions regulations.

"But the biggest addition is the optional Twin-Clutch Sportronic Shift Transmission. Operated by two paddles behind the steering wheel, it offers seamless and lightning-fast shifts and smooth rev-matched downshifts. Three shift modes dictate the smoothness and speed of changes as well as how aggressively the engine revs are used. We found the TC-SST very impressive—so much so that we can recommend it over the five-speed manual with little hesitation."

^Incredible.

The infinitely more tunable GSR with the five-speed manual is just 59 pounds heavier.

Nice find

"When asked by regular consumers about the daily drivability of the current Evo, we relate to a 100 lb woman trying to take a pit bull on a casual walk."

"Despite all the added size, structure and systems, the new Evo MR with the six-speed TC-SST is just 100 pounds heavier (including 11 pounds of sound deadener) than the 2006 Evolution IX MR. The infinitely more tunable GSR with the five-speed manual is just 59 pounds heavier."

Where are the fools that said the X will cost 40K+ and weigh 300 lbs more.

what we really want are tuners reviewing (modding) the X. this will give us a better understanding of what the car is like.

The added structure, combined with the 1.0-inch-longer wheelbase and 1.2-inch-wider track, results in a far more composed ride—no more “tin can on wheels” feel. Steering is lighter but retains its instant response and on-center feel, while losing some of the car’s hyper-twitchiness, vibration and shimmy. Braking is as strong as ever, with big Brembo calipers clamping 13.8-inch rotors in front and 13.0s in back.

Atleast the X doesn't feel like a tin can compared to the older evos lol.

Oh and 59 lbs for all that **** they added is ashtonising

Good job mitsu!
