Or maybe, never even drove it yet...
Hypothetical scenario for you:

You have a friend for the past year who keeps telling you he has this amazing girl you need to meet. He keeps telling you she is smokin hot, single, and a beast in the sack. After hearing this on and off for a year, he finally hooks you up on a blind date.

The doorbell rings, you answer the door, and there before you stands Roseanne Barr.

Now for the million dollar question -- are you disappointed?

minor disappointments in the exterior, tranny in the GSR should be a 6 speed, and NO aluminum block motor... i can deal with not having a 4g63, but for FI applications you NEED an iron block... Mitsu was hollering and screaming about saving 23 lbs on the motor, but gains 100 in the overall car...

I think the point is...its still a fat ugly pig...that's good in the sack...I'm sorry but just because a car has new technology but looks like crap IMO doesn't make it a better model than the previous...

Its not forced induction though...so the aluminum block can take it...if you plan on boosting the car to a higher psi...aluminum will not hold as much as an iron block at the end of the day...The X had no choice but to go with an aluminum block simply because of its weight gain due to the new chasis and bling bling...

aren't the 2.0L & 2.5L subie flat fours alum blocked?

there are plenty of ultra strong aluminum blocks, they just need to be larger in physical dimension to make up for their lighter weight per size. in the Ford small block world, the aluminum 4 bolt 5.0 is considered the best/strongest engine available and given the right power boosters will easily touch 1000 hp.

this is simply not true. aluminum is weaker per size (x,y,z axis) but is much stronger per weight. we have only looked at the weight of the 4B11 vs. the 4G63, what is the size difference. I'd bet that despite the minimal weight savings (>25 lbs is insignificant) the engine is stronger because you can use more aluminum in the same weight, but larger package.
