2011 Mitsubishi Lancer Ralliart - UPGRADES!
2011 Mitsubishi Lancer Ralliart - UPGRADES!
Update: Mitsubishi has announced official upgrades and pricing for its 2011 Lancer Ralliart turbocharged AWD sedan. The 2011 Lancer Ralliart will come with a 242hp (258 lb-ft of torque) turbocharged four-cylinder - up 5 horsepower from the 2010 version of the same 4B11 engine. The 2011 model will also have an optional 5 speed manual transmission as well as a TC-SST dual-clutch gearbox. Pricing for the manual transmission will start at $25,190, and the dual-clutch version will start at $26,590.
According to Mitsubishi the new 2011 Lancer Ralliart will also be 90 lbs lighter than the outgoing 2010 model. The biggest change from 2010 to 2011 will be better wheels and tires. The new Ralliart will come standard with 18 x 8.5-inch Enkei wheels (same as in the Evo GSR) that will carry 245/40R18 Yokohama ADVAN asymmetrical performance tires, a change from the mild 215mm Yokohama tires of the previous model year. The 2011 Ralliart will also gain slightly larger fenders in order to house the new bigger wheels and tires.
Mitsubishi says that the new Ralliart will have a .5 second quicker 0-60 time, giving the car a 0-60 in 5.4 seconds (2010 model did a 0-60 in 5.9 seconds). Considering that the $34,990 rally bred Lancer Evolution GSR does a 0-60 in 4.9 seconds, the new Ralliart looks pretty impressive.

I've never heard of autoinsane.com so I can't say that they're a reliable source. While the upgrade info itself doesn't sound too unbelievable, that fact that they are listing exact prices is setting off my BS meter. Mitsubishi hasn't even announced the 2010 pricing yet and I doubt they even know what the 2011 pricing will be since so much can change in that amount of time. (raw material costs, exchange rates etc)
*EDIT* Ignore this bogus news. It was already posted back in April and it was quickly debunked in this thread:

OK now this just pisses me off. Mitsubishi needs to be focusing more on the Evolution and upgrading it.
It sometimes seems to me that they focus all their R&D on the Lancer/ Ralliart. It's what you hear about most of the time it seems.

Why? Because...
- they're discussing the 2010 model as if it's already been out for some time
- they're talking about the 2011 model before prices have even been announced for the 2010 model
- they're reposting crap that was knocking around back in April, about 6 months after the '09 Ralliarts came out
- the press release was originally attributed to Wayne Killen at MMNA, and when somebody here pointed out that Mr. Killen hadn't been with MMNA for some time, the OP @ the forum where the info came from edited the name to Daniel P. Kuhnert
