that's what I thought at first, but after watching the videos, the Outlander family made more sense for marketing

Evo X shoppers hardly need any other reason to get an X imo

HAHA not really or totally related but it reminds me of the vendors in here than are always doing world records like ex:

The fastest world only evo with 4 cyl, from 2003 to 2004, being in the state of NJ, running pump gas, US made evo, stock block, or we don't know really, but think it's world record that only day this past december when it was cold and nobody was watching. Go do your homework guy's we rock we have a world record setting evo...........

Holy hell, I thought I was the only one here with that opinion!

People that say that kind of crap (OMG I set a record!!!!) need to realize that not everyone posts stuff on internet car forums, case in point-local guy here makes over 1,000 WHP on a Dyno Dynamics, is not on one single forum.

silly. braking on ice is less a factor of your vehicle and more of the tires you're using. Were they using the stock outlander tires? highly doubtful. probably something nice like hakka SUV5's or something.

In fact most of these cold weather traction tests have more to do with tires than with the vehicle. Perhaps the guiness records should go to the tire manufacturer.

But then again, silly marketing like this appeals to silly car buyers with not a whit of common sense in their heads. Like 90% of them out there. Hence why domestics still outsell lots of better-built, more reliable, foreign cars. Those same buyers.

I thought the exact same thing. If I was the tire manufacturer, I would be doing everything I could to jump in on this marketing promotion
