Holy hell, I thought I was the only one here with that opinion!
People that say that kind of crap (OMG I set a record!!!!) need to realize that not everyone posts stuff on internet car forums, case in point-local guy here makes over 1,000 WHP on a Dyno Dynamics, is not on one single forum.
silly. braking on ice is less a factor of your vehicle and more of the tires you're using. Were they using the stock outlander tires? highly doubtful. probably something nice like hakka SUV5's or something.
In fact most of these cold weather traction tests have more to do with tires than with the vehicle. Perhaps the guiness records should go to the tire manufacturer.
But then again, silly marketing like this appeals to silly car buyers with not a whit of common sense in their heads. Like 90% of them out there.
Hence why domestics still outsell lots of better-built, more reliable, foreign cars. Those same buyers.
