I actually like that a lot. But isn't that just a photoshop, not actually a mitsubishi rendering? Anyhow, I wonder how tough it will be to make power with a hybrid system? It also seems odd that mitsubishi would invest millions of dollars to develop an entirely new engine and awd system for the X only to put a completely new system into the XI, although stranger things have happened.

 

I can’t confirm if it an actual Mitsubishi render but, if it is an actually production rendering. I must say it doesn’t look bad at all, the light are going change just a bit as always but hey still look good. I wonder how it looks from the back…. Also I wonder if the parallel mode can handle power mods. Without falling to bits

That concept drawing is fugly... The front hood to windshield transition reminds me of a prius for some reason.

 

Considering it's a concept, I like it! It'll obviously change and become less aggressive as it nears production, but I think it's a cool rendering that is somewhat similar to what the current Lancer body shape is.

My source is saying the 2016 Evo XI will still have the 4B11T, but will be hybrid electric while coming in lighter than the X.

No transfer case, driveshaft, rear diff, AYC, ADC+ smaller car ?

Chris, this is major league news here. Originally, the XI was to have a turbo diesel with hybrid motors. Now, if the car has a 4B11T along with the electric motors and is lighter than the X, we now have a winner here. More power, more efficiency, more mpg and more performance. Now, if what you say is true, the only other major issue will be the styling. Let's hope Mitsubishi hits a home run on this one.
