Mitsubishi may bring the Evo back which would be under the Renault-Nissan-Mitsubishi platform. It may come with 350 hp utilizing the engine in the Megane RS https://www.caranddriver.com/news/a2...tion-xi-rumor/

Dude if they release another sports saloon I'm gonna ****.
I was so crushed when I found out the Evo namesake was going to be used for their ugly new crossover. Oh what I would do to see the Evo come back in it's former glory! Even if they just released an updated Evo X I'd probably buy it.

Maybe the electric motor can be hacked to reduce turbo lag like on a McClaren? Mitsubishi really does not have a good idea of what North America wants. It sounds like it will be a long car. WRC needs to change their rules.

Someone posted this here in Evo M taken from a Japanese Magazine and I just googled a better image of it. I really like this rendition of the Evo and youre probably right that the side wont make it into production if it ever goes back in production.

I still say the new Evo will be closer to this:

It continues to keep the style of the newer vehicles Mitsubishi has produced lately and was given to Gran Turismo a couple years ago as a concept vehicle.

Well, there will likely not be another Lancer Evo without a base Lancer line. The idea being they will sell more base Lancers with an Evo-badged Lancer in play. I doubt Mitsu ever made much money selling the Lancer Evo, but sold a **** load of base Lancers because the former existed.
