March 2004 Export Market Evo Brochure
March 2004 Export Market Evo Brochure
Folks,
I just obtained a brochure for the latest Evo. It appears to be a generic English brochure for the export market. Specs make it look like an MR, but there is no MR badging; I think it's also known as an Evo 8.5.
Thanks to zstryder for hosting this.
Enjoy!

Otherwise, PM one of the moderators. Maybe they can give you some space on the server.

Hm, there's definitely something odd about this brochure. The pictures are all reused from the Evo8 Japanese catalogue (non MR, hence all the painted wings), but the badges have been photoshopped into the right place (as per US cars). It shows the RS steering wheel in a picture randomly without explaining it, and many pictures don't have the front headlights blacked out like they should be. The power figures are also in metric.
I'm not saying it's not authentic, but that maybe this brochure was not intended for the US. And it's odd that they would add the ACD but not the 6 speed?

I, too, found it curious that the 5-speed was mentioned rather than the 6-speed. I did find the color highlights in the door and dash rather attractive, though I haven't seen that in any MR pictures.

Actually, the blue dash panels and door trims are standard on Evo8's elsewhere in the world. The MR gets carbon fiber trim instead.
Oh yeah, and the brochure's got the normal rear bumpers too, not the USDM ones.
The brochure almost feels like it was rushed together, with pics of the MR and pics of the normal Evo8. Oh well.
