Man that's pretty steep for a lawn chair with an engine! I mean seriously there is NO way that car is worth near BMW prices....give me a break.

I will buy a Subi STi before I pay more then 37K for an MR. That's just crazy.

Add another 4K in mods and you above 40K that's just retrarded. I can buy a freaking slightly used Porshe Carrea for that.

If they can deliver them for something near 34K that might be reasonable...

Just my thoughts.

 

settle down. the MR will probably be around $33K, not $37K. oh, and which BMW are you referring to because NO new BMW under $40K will be able to compete with the MR. even the E46 M3 is no match. when you buy an evo, you're paying for performance, not luxury. as a mustang owner, you should understand that.

 

Well. lets figure on a round amound. I just a saw a leather 04 evo with sunroof and sound for $33,100. Now figure the upgraded MR with better suspension, more power and more add-ons.....probably $35-$37,000. this is just and educated guess based on the '04 models that I have seen in Colorado.

Why would it come with a sun roof? Mitsubishi Racing edition....Sun roofs are not performance friendly. Leather is an option though, and sound system is included.

 

according to the '05 brochure posted in an another thread (and asuming that brochure is accurate for the USDM), leather will not be an option for the MR. i would never get leather anyway.

 

thats what i thought. so you dont need to add the base price of the evo with leather, sound and sun +another 2k. my guess is its probably around 33-34k msrp

 

I am sorry. I should have clarified my findings. The Evo I saw had a package of leather, sunroof, and sound for $2500...making the total on the car $33,100. Now, this was for a 2004 evo. It is the same as the 03's just leather comes standard.

The MR, will probably NOT come with a sunroof,and leather might still be an option. If the 04's can have leather as an option , wh can't the MR.

The leather on the recaro seats are from factory and are a charcoal gray(which I don't like BTW). I don't think that speed enthusiasts are going to want leather, but it is an option.

So now, if you think that leather with an 04 is $33,100...just imagine the upgrades and new stuff on an 05 MR. I bet you that $35-$37,000 is about right. Just because they are newer, better, and have more upgrades than the original Evo VIII.

So the 05's still have a choice of sun and sound package correct? So with slight upgrades over the 04 do we think we are talking increase in price of the 05s. I am not talking MR here just base. I am hoping the 05 will have a tag same as 04 with s&s package....key word HOPE prolly a bit more.

 

This could be old news but the MR $800 option (it's not an option if I can't choose not to buy it) is additional to the MSRP of the MR so this means the MR is not $800 on top of the normal EVO8.

I would guess that the MR would be $35,000 + $800 making it around high $35,000 to low $36,000.

This is why the MR option doesn't list the 6 speed because that is standard on the MR. It's kind of weird to include an option that forces everyone to buy it. Might as well call it Standard. Just the naming thing is werid. I don't care about the $800. I think it is cheap for all that is listed in the package for $800.

 

I think if your a good negotiator, you can just get them to throw in the 800 dollar MR package somehow.

 

Just wanted to clear this up for everyone, i just ordered our first 3 MR's yesterday, there are NO available options on the MR. It only comes one way. NO leather, NO sunroof. The MR package is standard, it is NOT optional. The stereo system is a standard Lancer 140 watt CD player, no sub. Pricing is still not final BUT, the car will NOT be 37k. If anyone needs more info let me know.

No problem, it is really cool to see the amount of support that the EVO has from the people here at EVOM. Everyone should be glad to have a sight like this and the members for all the information and help it gives. I just like seeing a lot of people who really enjoy cars like the EVO and all the different things that you do with them. I am anxiously awaiting our first shipment just to check it out. When we get our first one I'll post up some pics. I have 2 greys and a silver coming so I'll try and get some good pics of the gray and post them up.
