How to duplicate the FQ340 setup in US MR?
Anyone know the list of HKS goodies that are installed in the UK spec MR? I am thinking of duplicate that engine setup after I receive my MR later this year. Not because I like HKS stuffs, but I am just guessing if the UK dealers offers warranty for their FQ340 package, it should be a somewhat durable set up. Any thoughts on this?
Owen Developments make the FQ kits. The 340 is just exhaust, intercooler piping and a piggy back ECU. Any of the US tuners can help you recreate it. The Vishnu Stage 0 would get you right up there. The MR 340 puts out 345 hp. A stock MR puts out 300 hp unlike the USDM MRs. So duplicating the kit will not get you there.
yeah, the MR320 consists of HKS Superdragger exhaust and HKS hardpipe kit. The 340 has the same, with piggyback ecu, leather seats and smart-nav. Is it right that the USDM MR's will be detuned from the standard 300bhp?

Yes we are supposed to have 276hp when the US Eo MR comes in the fall. The VIII were 271 hp. Don't feel to bad for us since upgrades for Evolutions are fairly cheap here. I am just happy to have the car come here at all.
Got another question. What is the most powerful engine setup I can get without sacrificing any durability and "streetability". Or if there is really no such thing as durable "modded" evo.
I see tuners offer different stages, and they said their kit won't "hurt" the car. Is that true or false?

It's a touchy subject in the UK, because some cars have run fine on standard internals up to 450bhp, but others experience problems over 400bhp. These are usually on the older evos, as in the UK there are not many VIII's that have been modded to over 400bhp yet. But I think if you are willing to pay the money, then the reliability should stay (as much as it can with xxxbhp)
