If you could decide, what options would you like to see?

Hello, I just wanted to get everyone's thoughts on new options they would love to see on the next generation EVO (IX)? Some options that I wouldn't mind seeing on the EVO IX are-

- More power (300HP) standard for all models (So easy and cheap for Mitsubishi
to do this, so why not)

- 6-Speed Manual standard for all models

- Leather seats and Luxury Upgrade option (For those who want a more
comfortable and better looking interior and are willing to compromise on
performance a little)

- Limited Edition 2 Door Coupe Model (Instant Classic in my opinion)

- A Limited Edition or Editions EVO MR350 and/or MR400, you got it, the MR350 has
350 Horsepower and the MR400 has 400 Horsepower, price $35-$38K for MR350
and $42-$45K for the MR400 in the USA.

Just some ideas I have on what I (just my own personal opinion) would love to see the Evolution name plate evolve into. What are some thoughts and options you would like to see on the 2006 or 2007 Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution IX???

I heard Mitsubishi was giving many EVO customers phone calls and asking for thier opinions on what options they would like to see on the newest EVO (hence that is where the idea for the thread came from) so hopefully Mitsubishi won't just blow off people's ideas. Some of options I don't think would cost a whole lot, but some of my ideas would cost a lot for Mitsubishi, but sometimes you have to spend money to make money, or there is option B which is do nothing and continue to rot.

Definetly a luxury upgrade and also, a little more standard features such as:

1) digital climate control used from Diamante as seen on EVO VI
2) illuminated window switches
3) Side air bags as well as curtain air bags (STI has SIDE)
4) Cruise control/maybe multi functional steering w/audio controls
5) Trip computer as seen on Montero/Pajero with AVG MPG, miles--->0, Car status
5) Heated seats
6) Auto dim mirrors and heated ext.mirrors w/power folding as seen in Europe
7) Leather/suede alcantra inserts for better grip
8) One touch up/down for driver and passanger windows

Thats all I can think of right now

I like all of your ideas. I would def pay for nicer seats, leather/alcantra would be really nice. Hopefully the EVO IX will have more choices for consumers.

NO LEATHER!

Ugh. I love leather seats, but it sucks sliding everywhere whenever you go around a turn. It also adds a fair amount of cost I'd rather see used for other things.

AYC would be nice, but mainly I'd like to see less weight. All the features in JaguarS4R's post don't add anything to the car, other than cost and weight. Cruise control might be the sole exception. People seem to want everything, but all those features add a lot of cost and a some amount of weight. The Evo was never about luxury.

Not a bad list, but sounds more like a list for a normal family sedan. Stuff like heated seats and side airbags most likely won't happen with the recaros. The leather/alacantra might since you already have the leather, i think full alacantra like the JDM seats would be the best for grip. Other stuff like computers, steering wheel audio controls and all kinds of crazy mirror stuff is too luxury in my opinion for a rally car that people buy for performance. I doubt many of these lux editions would sell anyway. just my $.02

True, but STI already offers most of that, heres their list:
1)Power front and rear windows with driver's auto-down
2)Electronically controlled cruise control
3)Lockable and illuminated glove box(oh yea, yu cant lock glovebox on EVO)
I cant remember, is the glove box illumintaed on EVO?
4)Digital ambient temperature gauge
5)Automatic climate control system with CFC-free air conditioning, air filtration system, rotary controls for temperature, 7-speed fan and airflow direction.

subaru is a higher japan car maker then mitsu period. mitsu is barely staying above being put in the korean quality market. you sure you want electronic gizmo's from a company that has quality on above the koreans? I can see it now, my auto ac dosent work. -mitsu tech, hmmmmmm, you've been pushing the buttons making it work manually! warranty denied.

The 'FQ' packages from the UK would be nice. So would bigger, lighter wheels, a tighter structure, more power, even more aggressive styling, lighter weight and a louder, clearer stereo system, JDM alcantra seats.
