I have an 04 evo 8 and just got some mods done to it. We put turbo xs downpipe and exaust "stock cat" and it dyno'd at 224/228. They did utec and tuned it out for a while "16 dyno runs" and put the boost to 21 and taper to 20. It put down 281/288 now. It feels really good and reliable, no surges etc.. I have read that alot of people get more HP out of these? Anyone else get around the same #'s as me?

Yes, I had gotten similar gains with similar mods.. I can't begin to explain to people how well the UTEC works when its tuned correctly. I'm glad your happy, I'd like to see more people post this sort of stuff.

 

I know I don't have an evo, but when I had my wrx tuned, 245awhp -> 283awhp, 225lbs of torque to 268lbs of torque.. at 18psi... when I hit the road, it started knocking.. grrrr.. but i retarded the timing by two degrees and now i can safely boost up to 20psi..

wow utec can do that with just cat-back and dp? Are there any good Utec tuners around Northern California (bay area?)

 

Damn not bad. That's a big difference from stock.
