weather question
Good question
Good question. My impressions are that you would not need to because the car will change its maps according to the situations (ie cooler, denser air). All AFC does is alter AF map. Now whether the same percentage margins are present in all maps is the question. I guess you probably know all this. This is just me thinking outloud

Hi,
I've found that here in New England I've had to lower boost to deal with lower temps, or I get misfire and/or fuel cut and/or timing pulled. I have an MBC, and it just flow "too much" air if I have it set where it was to get me ~20 lbs in the summer months.
I've also adjusted the SAFC slightly, but currently with no wideband o2 or anything it isn't very scientific...
Thoughts?

This past weekend the temps at night dropped to right around freezing, while mashing the gas in 3rd and 4th my boost stayed pegged at 22lbs never any higher. So I guess that I will not change anything right now since 22lbs is ok from what I understand. Feel free to correct me if I am wrong
I will tell you this, 70 degrees low/no humidity, 20psi, 11:0/2 (wideband O2) wot pulls in 4th at Roebling Road raceway consistently. Same car, same settings, 30 degrees outside, O2 was 11:8-12:0, which is on the cusp of dangerous. I am cutting the boost down to 17psi, or I am going to upgrade the fuel system, but something has got to give. I can't run 11:0 or higher daily driving, TOO HIGH. I am sure your 02's are probably around 11:8 to 12:2, if I had to guess. If you are running 100 octane, you are ok, otherwise, I would cut the boost down to 17psi.
Guys, spend the 300 bucks, get a wideband, it is the SAFEST thing you can do.

yeah i figured. no i dont run 100oct just good old 93oct- I hardly ever drive the evo in the winter- i just will take it out to the store if it is sunny and dry- and to be honest- i would say i drive it like grandma in the winter- the boost doesnt even really spool up to high- or for any long time- guess the cold weather takes the excitment out of me. thanks for your input . i appreciate it

No problem. For what you are doing a pop here and there isn't going to hurt it. BUT, if you open track, like me, then you don't want to run it hard for hours at 12:5 : 1.
You should kick it once in the winter, it boosts hard. However, I just cut mine back to 16.5 psi for the winter. I don't want to take a chance on hurting it with 2 events on the horizon.
