Is it possible to download the software or user manual for the UTEC to get a sense of the interface? I've downloaded the software for the EMS and the user manual from aempower.com and was hoping to do the safe with the UTEC to get a good comparison.

Yeah, but the software is nothing but a firmware. UTEC uses hyperterminal to communicate with your PC, you can't really try it without a UTEC connected. But try to download BigBoogieMan's UCC release 3, it's a great software! It has a very easy to use user interface.
