This is actually for a friend who's trying to troubleshoot his car. He has an '03 evo and installed the UTEC and the ABC. He removed the upper boost restrictor pill. Besides an intake filter, the car is pretty much stock. He's been messing with the boost map and the ABC and couldn't manage to boost past 18 psi on stage 1 and managed 20 psi on stage 0 (stock). He turned the ABC up to 4 full turns while in both stage 1 and 0 and the results were as listed above. the boost gauge is accurate as it behaved properly before he installed the UTEC/ABC and we can't find any boost leaks. i have an '05 and i've managed to tune the boost without issues, so i'm at a loss.

 

When you say "upper boost restrictor pill" do you mean the one about an inch off the boost control solenoid? Did your friend switch to open loop boost in the map? I justo hooked mine up last night. Running the off the shelf stage 2 with the bleed valve about 1 1/4 turn out, it holds 20PSI solid.
