Question Abc...

So, basically I'm a bit confused about the ABC and how it works. I'm interested in having my boost settings change with my maps, so I'd like an integrated solution for boost control. The guys I'm working with really like the UTEC, but seem pretty unimpressed with the ABC. The feeling I got from them was that it's more of a MBC and they typically use some external boost control. So, what I'm interested to know is:

Does the boost with the ABC adjust when I use different map settings? I'd like to run higher boost on my race gas setting than I do on my 91 or 93 maps...and probably a tad more in the 93 than I do in the 91. Can the ABC handle this without manual adjustment?

I've also seen some interesting posts, and hence been able to gather a bit more information in this area, about spikes and holding boost. It appears that if you are familiar with the ABC, and take the time to adjust it properly, that these problems can be minimized if not eliminated.

Basically, if I need some other form of boost control, I'm ok with that. I just want to know before I get my UTEC so I can set reliable boost levels.

Thanks in advance, and if I missed any posts that cover this, please point me to them...but I didn't see much that addressed this exact issue.

if you want more precise boost control with the UTEC + evo, get a MAP sensor for closed loop. i've been toying with my god damned boost settings for a while now and i'm still spiking every now and then and whatnot. i'm just gonna cop the MAP sensor and be done with it. txs put down the part numbers for what you need to get the GM 3-bar in the manual if you want to check it out. as far as the abc itself goes, it basically moves the window for your boost. ie, stock lines, you can raise boost to 20psi, let's say. with the abc opened up a bit, now you can raise the boost up to 20+. after you get the ABC to run the max boost you want to run, you go into the boost map and mess with it a bit.
