I just finished wiring up the SAFCII today. I soldered the wires according to the wiring diagram and instruction at http://evotuners.net/forums/showthread.php?t=111. I have a ECU harness extension btw. Ground wires at pin 26 (brown wire closer to ECU, black wire is 0.5in away from the brown wire). Pink airflow wire connect to pin90 wire at the ECU side. Orange airflow wire to pin90 wire at the other side. I also taped the splices with electrical tapes.

When I plug in the ECU harness extension with the SAFCII to the ECU, I did the initial set-up as stated in the owner's manual. Everything looked fine.

But, when i started the engine, the CEL came up. I then took the SAFCII off the car. Plug back the ECU without SAFCII. Started the car, the CEL is gone!

WHY???? Anybody had this experience?? What else can I do? Did I wire them wrong/backward?? Please check the pic. I have DP, exhaust, intake.

is your car setting on 4 cyl upper right arrow? is it on Karman setup?

Is that wired right or backwards?

We're karman, if you're not in karman, it tends to throw a code.

 

Yes. I set it on Karman. 4 cylinder with the arrow up and to the right.

I am pretty sure i wired them right. Can someone confirm by looking at the pics??

Never mind... I installed the SAFCII on the car again today. Redo the initial setup. Then, realized I forgot to do the "self learning the throttle opening" step last time. Basically, i just held the throttle opened for 10sec without the engine running. Then I fired up the car, the CEL disappeared. How touchy can this sucker be..............

 

Did you get the code? I keep getting a 325 (knock sensor)
