Tuning in an intake...
After researching extensively it seems as though any intake other than a K&N drop in will alter your MAF readings and make you run lean in certain areas of the powerband. My question is, does the new filter actually disturb the flow of air so much that the MAF can't read it properly? Or is it simply that you're flowing more air and thus need more fuel?
Secondly, does the SAFCII offer enough adjustment points to make the powerband as smooth as stock with an intake installed (after adjusting for lean points)?

Well I have a huge K & N intake bolted to the MAS sensor and I haven't had any problems and have had it installed for a year now. Now the S-AFC 2. I just got one and am still working to find the right tune for my car. I have to say it is a powerful tool and I think if I learn to use it correctly I can make some real power. It has adjustment points of 200 increments and you can use them whereever you want them.

1K, 2K, 3K, 3.6K, 4K, 4.4K, 4.8K, 5.2K, 5.6K, 6K, 6.4K, 6.8K
Oh yea,
A high flow filter/intake just flows more air, our MAS' counts it just fine.
I have the stock rubber intake with a cone filter on mine, no problems with the MAF readings, AFC is working great, it helps if u have a logger, ive been tuning with the o2's as i dont have a wideband yet..
