I bought my utec used and I got it installed and it had the guys rescent maps on it so I deleted them. I have a stock evo so I have it on stock mode. I was wondering if I reflash the to the new 1.7 again will it delete all the parameters that the recent person had on there cause thats what I dont understand. If all the parameters are in default and then I put in the stock map will it run better. Also I have a works p2 flash on the ecu from when I bought the car. My car seems like it is running rich because it doesnt seem that fast for 20 psi. I have the abc on it also.
Yes, it will reset all the parameters he had set.. then you can load the turboXS stage 1 or stage 2 maps on it.. But you are on the right track, until you can take the time and have it tuned, leave it in "Stock Mode" (map 0).. Until your sure how your tune has been altered by your mods, your best letting the stock ECU do the work until you can have it taken care of. Log as much data as possible, if you have a wideband it'll then be possible to tune the car yourself, but I'd recommend having a tuner do it for you the first time regardless.
So what you are saying is that do not keep it on the stock evo turbo xs map that it is on now? I have the utec turned to map one which is the stock evo turbo xs map which is 20 psi. I think having the works p2 keeps my boost from droping cause I have the abc valve set to 20 psi and there is no tapering down. Also can you tell me how to reflash to the new 1.7 which is already on there, but I just want to have the parameters back to default. when I put the stock mode on it kind of idled crappy but that I know is from the parameters being different than the default mode. My tuner breifly went through and changed some stuff in the parameters and it idles fine now but it just seems like it should pull alot harder hitting 20 psi. Almost like it is running rich which I believe those maps for turbo xs are set up like that. I just need to know how to reflash the 1.7 to were it an all be stock. Also I have a turbo back no cats going on the car in a week or so and I was wondering if I needed to mess with the parameters or just load in the turbo xs stock with tbe map and then wait till I get tuned. thanks
map 1 is a turboXS map IF you loaded it.. for the time being, I'd leave it at 0.. I don't know what sort of difficulties you'll have with the flash and UTEC at the same time with that map.
The timing in the TurboXS maps are pretty safe, nothing radical about it.. the fuel curve can be a little lean depending on your mods.. thats why I suggest just running on Map0 until you can get the car tuned.
