Buschur AFC II and non-Buschur TBE

As with everyone else I've been bitten by the modding bug. I'm looking to get an AFC II and I have heard that you need a wideband 02 and some type of data logging. In my search I have found that Buschur has an AFC II with their settings for their exhaust.

Has anyone bought this AFC II from Buschur but used it on a different exhaust system? What type of results did you get?

Talking

I just went up to Buschur this morning to get a patch harness for my SAFCII.

I'm running a RSR GT2 cat back, for now I notice a big difference.

Pretty sure that whatever exhaust you run, you'll notice a diff.

The AFC has nothing to do with the Buschur exhaust. He just gives you some canned settings that are known to work well with certain combinations of mods. You can't just buy the S-AFC from Buschur and rely on those settings, though, no matter what exhaust you get. You will need to have a logging device (preferably with wideband O2) so that you can tune YOUR car with YOUR settings, YOUR mods, YOUR climate (temp, altitude, humidity), and to fit YOUR driving. If you aren't familiar with tuning/logging with an S-AFC, you may prefer to go with a flash, since that is easier, proven, safe, and requires no additional work. If you are interested in learning how to tune your car yourself, then go with the S-AFC, but be sure to get the appropriate logging device(s).

That's what I was thinking as well Warrtalon. I had a feeling someone said that -- just trying to mod the most effective way without the killer cost. Thanks for the input -- I need to find a wide band and a data logger cheap. Recommendations?

For a cheap pocketlogger, do this:

Get a palm m100 or m500 (ebay or amazon) - $25-$30
Downloaded free software;

And got a T16-003 OBD-II connector;
http://www.multiplex-engineering.com/interfaces.htm - $80

I can't help you on wideband...I'm just doing narrowband. I don't think there are cheap wideband solutions, but I may be wrong.

Using my S-AFC and pocketlogger, I ran the time in my sig with just a K&N, and I don't believe I have it tuned optimally yet.
