I've gotten pretty beaten up for posting my numbers since nobody wants to believe that a good tune can make power without requiring cams and other intrusive modifications.

However, my car has basically the Buschur Stage 3 components minus the cams, a blowthrough MAF sensor, Coil on plug ignition, HKS SSQV (this is an important mod to make note of since it holds boost on my car better than the 1G DV I was running) and a rudimentary Water injection kit that I pieced together (and have since removed)

There are essentially no other performance mods on the car, I took about 3 weeks to build my race tune running 93 octane gas, Alcohol injection, and some secret sauce, and made some great numbers at the track.

My daily tune, and my aggressive street tune, were both well over 300whp/tq And I have run the car into the 11's on my race tune, and low 12's on the street tunes.. with a stock (though well worn) clutch, turbo, cams....

As you can see by PDXEvo's signature, even a very basically modded car running stock boost levels can break 300whp (I think he can pick up a bit more torque )

I think the key to making good power is understanding your modifications, how the ECU works, and how our cars respond to tuning.. Either you or your tuner should be comfortable with the EVO and knows where you can push and where you have to be conservative.

My last dyno, before the turbo upgrade was 311.7 hp, and 332.2 tq on a dynapak.

I am but a grasshopper who needs to still learn the ways of the tune.

Torque always kicks my butt on the dyno. Its a tough one to figure out on the tune for me so far. I have a really interesting area between 4k and 5k where it dips from 297 to ~285 then back to 296@5k. Timing adjustments dont really seem to do much to this area but fuel adjustments seem to be making some change. Lots of little variables. Ill have to post my graph sometime. Its quite interesting.

HKS 272s w/ Fidanza Gears (-4/-1.5)
Injen UICP & intake
AMS crank pulley
TXS TBE w/ MeGan Racing TP
UTEC
Buschur alky injection (100% denatured alcohol)
Tuned @ Harman Motive

Baseline untuned was 294whp/267wtq

Blue line was on 91 and the red was on the alcohol. I was really hoping for better numbers, but Dan said my Evo was pretty knock happy and we were also having some misfiring problems.. hoping it's the spark plugs (currently 39k on them). My torque doesn't seem to be where it should be either. Throwing in a 10.5 hotside, one step colder iridiums, MR DV or Greddy Type-S and a walbro pump. I'd love to have Archie's numbers, those are awesome!

ya know.. thats exactly the RPM where my car would get a misfire.. I wonder if you check and regap your plugs, or do something to stabilize the ignition a bit..

BTW replacing my plugs with 1 step colder plugs gapped at .026 helped alot before I played with the ignition system..

damn dynojets!! I got 334whp on c16 on a low *** reading mustang dyno, but stock evo do about 200-210 on the gruppe-s dyno. So they said on a dynojet my #"s would be close to 400whp.

See my car in my profile for my mods and total #'s.

Good to know, that misfire is pretty annoying. After my dyno, my car developed a buzzing sound that happens around 3k rpms and I can feel it in the steering wheel and shift knob. I've looked around in the engine back while having the car rev'd, but I can't seem to isolate it.. I hope it's not something in my valvetrain.
