You can't use anyone else's settings. You have to tune it yourself so that it is safe, reliable, and efficient. You have your own set of mods, own temp, own humidity, own elevation, own random factors (installation quality, cam settings, true boost level, boost taper, etc). All of these combine to tell a story that only you and your Evo can read. If you use settings we suggest, you may melt a piston or run like ****.

Yes, use 4-cylinder and Karman.

correction.. you cant use anyone elses aggressive settings. If you take the someones general settings with similiar mods.. and richen them up by 4% then there shouldnt really be a leaning out issue. Iv done some looking around and Al, malibu jack and some others recommended adding fuel before 5000rpm. 5000 should be 0 and you can start taking out fuel from there, on my car 2600 rpm will go very lean (13.0) without adding fuel.. you could just tape down from -5 from here and i cant see that being a problem. hi low should be set at 40/60

bdking57,

Do you honestly think you should be giving someone AFC recommendations after running -21 at 7000rpms with stock injectors and not knowing it?

I was not the one that set it up to -21! I knew nothing about it at the time or how it worked, which is why i paid a "proffesional". this is the way a reputable shop on this site set it up for me (which is scary).. i would never set this thing up past -5 or -6 by myself.. currently at -5 after reading almost every post about setting up the safc II for the evo..malibu jacks old posts have been a huge help in figuring an appropriate super safe setup untill i can find a new tuner.

This is what I've found as well (in stock form). I have to richen before 5k, then I'm usually set to 0 at 5k, followed by gradual fuel removal all the way to 7500. I only have an S-AFC I, so I don't have as many NE-points as the II, which means I have to start my tuning at 4k for the street...I don't adjust anything below 4k, because I'm never in full boost below 4k. When at the drag strip, I don't go below 5500 rpm in any gear, so I only tune from that point forward.

The injectors cause him to automatically start in the negative across the board.

What part of it is funny?

Have you checked you AFR with thoses? they seem a tad conservative with your mods.

I am running -28 at 7000 and 7400, -22 at 6800

11.3 AFR in midrange dropping to 11.0 past 6500

91 octane
720s
FP
SAFC2
Turboback
no-cat
MBC @ 1.4bar

Find a shop with a dyno, and pay to have it tuned. Get a good baseline, and then get some 'aggressive' settings. Realize though, those more aggressive settings will be greatly affected by air quality and temp, so be prudent when you decided to go from conservative to more aggressive.

However, I can't stress enough, find a shop with a dyno and a wideband 02, and get the car dialed in to a safe but powerful tune.

I agree those seem very rich, Have to be in the low 10's or high 9 range. I have mine in the upper RPM range in the high -20's and I am running 10.9 to 11.0 AFR. I also am using 680cc injectors.
